Why is pH Important?

WHY IS THE pH IMPORTANT

There is a Chinese proverb that says “ I have two dogs inside me one is white and the other is black. They are constantly fighting each other, but I know which one is going to win because I have decided to feed just one of them”. The critical factor to consider is this, cancer feeds differently than normal cells. Let’s look first at a normal cell. Without getting into too much detail, the food you eat is broken down into ATP or cell food. Each cell has its own furnace to cook this ATP and getting the resultant energy it needs to function. Here is what you must understand, just as a car has to have gasoline to create energy, the carburetor must mix oxygen with the gas to get combustion. The cells mitochondria must mix oxygen with adenosine tripHospHate (ATP)  to get combustion. Without oxygen there is no combustion hence no energy is produced and the cell is shut down and will eventually die or figure some other mechanism to survive. Cancer cells on the other hand, do not  feed not off atp and oxygen like normal cells, they feed on sugar. Technically they are obligate glucose metabolizers. Simply put, cancer thrives off blood glucose and it does not need oxygen, in fact oxygen will deter cancer’s ability to utilize glucose. For emphasis let us repeat that normal cells utilize glucose plus oxygen to create energy but cancer cells feed off sugar without oxygen being present. Two time Nobel Prize winner Dr. Otto Warberg was able to show that you could take a normal cell and that by gradually depriving it of oxygen, it would mutate into a cancerous cell. When he added oxygen back, the cancer would either die or change back to its normal structure. If you have two dogs inside you, which one will you feed?  This is where pH comes into play. Oxygen is bound up and unavailable in an acid body. If oxygen is not available to the cell or if it is not present at all makes no difference. Oxygen must be accessible to the cells mitochondria just as oxygen must be mixed with gas. A clogged air filter will shut down your car, an acid body will restrict normal cellular metabolism. The available oxygen increases exponentially as you move from acid to alkaline, thus making oxygen more available for health and vitality It is also important to note that the area adjacent to a tumor is more acidic than other tissues, this is due to the fact that a byproduct of cancers metabolism is lactic acid.

WHAT FOODS ARE ACID

HOW CAN YOU CHANGE YOUR pH

The pH is usually more acid upon rising from sleep than it is during the day. It must be noted that the kidneys will usually try to keep a persons pH around 7. It will do this by excreting either acids or alkalizing minerals. Each person is unique and efforts to alter pH may be almost impossible for some individuals. It is important enough to your health to alkalize your body even if it should take years to do so. There are only a few factors which determine pH. Below is recommendations on ways to raise your body's pH:

FATS & OILS: Avocado Oil, Canola Oil, Corn Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, Flax Oil, Lard, Olive Oil, Safflower Oil, Sesame Oil, Sunflower Oil

FRUITS: Cranberries

GRAINS: Rice Cakes, Wheat Cakes, Amaranth, Barley, Buckwheat, Corn, Oats (rolled), Quinoi, Rice (all), Rye, Spelt, Kamut, Wheat, Hemp Seed Flour

DAIRY: Cheese, Cow Cheese, Goat Cheese, Processed Cheese, Sheep Milk, Butter

NUTS & BUTTERS: Cashews, Brazil Nuts, Peanuts, Peanut Butter, Pecans, Tahini, Walnuts

ANIMAL PROTEIN: Carp, Clams, Mussels, Oyster, Pork, Rabbit, Shrimp, Scallops, Venison, Lobster, Veal, Shellfish, Corned Beef

PASTA (WHITE): Noodles, Macaroni, Spaghetti

ALCOHOL: Beer: pH 2.5, Spirits, Hard Liquor, Wine

BEANS & LEGUMES: Black Beans, Chick Peas, Green Peas, Kidney Beans, Lentils, Lima Beans, Pinto Beans, Red Beans, Soy Beans, Soy Milk, White Beans, Rice Milk, Almond Milk

ACIDIFYING OTHER FOODS: Catsup, Cocoa, Coffee: pH 4, Vinegar, Mustard, Soft Drinks: pH 2

1. Diet. You are what you eat. If you consume acid or acid forming foods you will be acidic, if you consume alkalizing foods then you will be alkaline. The general "rule of thumb" is to eat 20% acid foods and 80% alkaline foods. Avoid the "strongly acid" foods.

2. Adding Baking Soda to your drink. We recommend you check the pH of all the beverages you drink. By adding baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) to the liquid, you can get the pH up to around 8, which is very alkaline and this will help your body to become alkaline. Use your pH kit to know how much to add. We suggest you find potassium bicarbonate and use this in place of the baking soda, if it is available. CAUTION!!! DO NOT drink alkaline water with a meal or just after one! Your stomach is secreating hydrochloric acid to digest the food you just ate. An alkaline drink may neutralize the stomach acid and impede digestion. With a meal, you can drink water or tea and add lemon juice to it. The liver will convert the citric acid to an alkali, without neutralizing the stomach acid. Even this should be limited.

3. Drink Salt Brine. This is very alkalizing.

4. Juice green vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, and alfalfa. This will allow you to condense alkalizing nutrients without all the bulk (fiber).

5. Take Epson Salt baths. Check your pH prior to the bath and again afterwards. You will be surprised at the differnce.

6. Exercise. It is important to note that carbon dioxide is acidic. This is expelled by the lungs as it is removed from the tissues via the veins taking blood back to the lungs to be expelled. Exercise and deep breathing help by oxygenating and forcing the blood flow to increase, thereby picking up more oxygen from the lungs and bringing more carbon dioxide to the lungs to be expelled. Brisk walking or jogging are both excellent ways to increase respiration rates.

7. Taking Vitamins/Minerals. If your saliva pH is 4.5 to 6, take 3,600 mg of Calcium, 2,000 mg Magnesium, 7,200 iu of Vitamin D, 90,000 iu of Vitamin A (beta carotene), and 750 mg of Potassium per day. If your pH is 6 to 6.5, then you will take 2,400 mg of Calcium, 1,300 mg of Magnesium, 4,800 iu of Vitamin D, 60,000 iu Vitamin A, and 500 mg of Potassium. If your saliva pH is 6.5 to 7.4, take 1,200 mg of Calcium, 700 mg of Magnesium, 2,400 iu of Vitamin D, 30,000 iu of Vitamin A, and 300 mg of Potassium.
